The book is addressed to
students, teaching staff and specialists
from the wood industry department with a
view to develop the data base useful for
design and execution of wooden products.
In its seven chapters, problems related
to definition, classification and terminology
of wooden structures, materials, history
evolution of wooden structures as well as
constructive solutions for simple and complex
structures are approached.
Different structure types, such as frame,
legged-frame, panels and boxes are presented,
with respect to their assembling mode, materials
and constructive variants.

The book is focused on
the concepts and methods used in the computer-aided
design of the parts specific for finite
wooden products.
The paper is structured in five chapters
constituting a support for appropriation
of the 3D model conception, understanding
and application the usage of the commands
implied in the parametric modeling of the
parts in the finite wooden product structure,
presenting the needed steps of using these
commands through description and suggestive
examples.
The book was conceived to simplify the understanding
process of this software and is dedicated
to the students of the Wood Industry Faculty,
and also to experienced specialists not
only in the field of wood industry interested
in developing their ideas with one of the
most powerful CAD/CAM/CAE solution in present.
The up-following volume 2 will be focused
on the assembling environment and obtaining
2D technical drawing and documentation.
