The thesis is concentrated
upon the implementation of the noise level
criteria generated during the longitudinal
wood processing with circular saws and
upon means of noise emission diminution.
The main purpose of the thesis is to promote
and disseminate best practice solutions
and models to reduce and control noise
from circular saws in production facilities.
The thesis offers an
opportunity for openings and debates about
current problems regarding the noise levels
emitted by circular saws and methods to
reduce the noise generated by them, especially
by choosing optimum processing conditions.
This objective requires the establishment
of appropriate distances for placement
in the manufacturing halls of other machine
tools, access corridors and even the installation
of soundproofing enclosures on some types
of circular saws, which are not already
provided with such facilities.
For creating the database,
it was necessary to perform a detailed
analysis of the noise emitted by different
types of new or older circular saws. Thus
a big number of measurements were taken,
according with the methodology established
by international norms.
Experimental researches
were carried out in a wood processing
industrial hall, upon which a noise map
was made. All the results of the noise
emission were graphically analyzed; upon
witch software was created in Delphi for
optimizing the operating conditions depending
on noise, an original creation.
Using the experimental
data, a study regarding the general methods
of reducing the noise emission, and some
original technical solutions were formulated
as well. The proposed solutions are two
soundproofing carcasses which have succeeded
to reduce the noise level by 6%.
The paper work solved
a major part of the problems regarding
the noise emission of the circular saws,
but there remained opened new directions
for research regarding this pollution
source - noise.
