The year 2009, anniversary of the 50 years Jubilee since the Faculty of Wood Industry was founded, ended with a
positive balance for our faculty and significant achievements, as pointed out in the Editorial within the December issue.
So as to ensure optimum unfolding of the activities within the PRO LIGNO Foundation in 2010 as well, on the 17th
of February 2010, a Meeting of the Founding Members took place.
Beside discussing and approving the financial balance for 2009,
the following were established:
     - Financial support from
founding members, to continue with both the printed
format of PRO LIGNO      Journal and abstracts publishing
online, withim own website;
- Preparation of logistics for the shift to professional
electronic format;      - Increasing the journal visibility
inside the country, through involvement of founding
members within the      distribution process.            On this
occasion, it was agreed that the electronic format
would enhance reducing the production costs, and
it would also enhance international access throught
unrestrained internet access, which would potentially
increase the number of citations and raise the
impact factor of the journal, which would finally
enhance achieving complete international recognition
- which is the major objective of the editorial
board.            However, this would affect the internal
distribution market, for which the printed version
is still the preferred alternative. This is the
reason why it was agreed that the printed version
should be further maintained. We hereby thank
the founding members for the awarded trust and
support and we hope that the Romanian companies
will appreciate this decision and will show increasing
interest towards scientific speciality-specific
literature, and will further support the publication
of PRO LIGNO journal through subscription, advertising
and repartition of 2% from 2009 income taxes towards
PRO LIGNO Foundation !            As far as we - the Editorial
Board - are concerned, we will try our best to
keep up the scientific level, diversity and graphic
quality of the journal, so as to offer our readers
pleasant and also interesting lecturing moments.
