A SURVEY FOR THE RATIONAL EXPLOITATION OF BEECH TREES AND INCREASE OF THE WOOD USAGE COEFFICIENT

Abstract: Nowadays in Albania there are a lot of various enterprises and companies dealing with the production of gross details out of beech wood. These details serve for the production of the integral elements of the chair, production of the basements (pedestal) of the wooden stairs and for other products us well. These details are being produced in various dimensions and in two quality classes. The study of the efficiency of the details production from beech timber was performed by the SANIDA Company in Prrenjas. There have been carried out a series of measurements aiming at the definition of the efficiency of the gross details production. Judging from the outcomes, the performance of the gross details' production is of low level (33.58%), which is due to many factors such as the quality of the raw material, the disregard of the cutting patterns and the severe tool wear. This causes a great quantity of saw dust. Taking into consideration the gross details production balance sheet, it results that 66.42% of the raw material is turned into residues such as: planks out of standards, furring, various wooden pieces and saw dust. Therefore, a part of these residues must be processed in order to produce gross details for other uses (elements of smaller dimensions) or they should be used for wood-based panels, wood fibers, paper etc.
