      We hereby close the fourth year of uninterrupted and punctual appearance of PRO LIGNO Journal, bearing the satisfaction that its success is given not only by the scientific content and graphical presentation, but especially bythe professionalism of te editorial team.
      I chose as motto for this editorial the word "success", not randomly, but in order to emphasize some of the great achievements of the Wood Industry Faculty, as basic pillar of PRO LIGNO Foundation and Journal. Several important event took place this year. Thus:
      - New managerial teams were elected at department and faculty level.
      - The study programme WOOD ENGINEERING (in English language) was evaluated and accredited by       ARACIS.
      - Two new study programmes were evaluated and accredited:
      - Forestry Engineering and Management (Romanian language) - undergraduate studies, 4 years;
      - Wood Engineering - Low Frequency Learning (Romanian language) - undergraduate studies, 4 years.
      - A new PhD-study programme, FORESTRY ENGINEERING, was evaluated and accredited.
      - The faculty participated active in the organization and unfolding of EXPO WOOD-2008 fair.
      - A new coating laboratory, donated by FALK CONSULTING SRL was inaugurated.
      - Re-arrangement of several laboratories and lecture rooms continued.
      With a view to the future, we can only await with confidence and hope the new year - 2009 - which is a jubiliary year for our faculty, considering that we will celebrate 50 years since the foundation of the Faculty of Wood Industrialization, this being the third faculty founded within the structure of the Polytechnical Institute in Brasov (October 1959).
      The 50 years Jubileum will be marked within an international scientific conference - ICWSE-2009. On this occasion, we invite all our partners, collaborators and sponsors to stand again beside us and be actively involved in this event.
      Now, as approaching the slide into a new year, we wish thank all those who sustained in 2008 and over the past years the Faculty of Wood Industry, and latest, the PRO LIGNO Foundation.
