CorelDRAW is a complex programme for making many types of drawings and documents. It is similar to a complete artistic studio which allows drawings from different domains such as: perspective geometry, furniture representations, execution and assembly drawings, artistic works (e.g: book covers, invitations, brochures etc.), graphical data processing, assembling elements for presentations and even animated sequences.
The book presents in detail, with appropriate examples, the facilities of the CorelDRAW 12 programme. It is rich in illustrations, starting from simple elements to the most complicated ones, making it accessible to all users, beginners or advanced.
The author wishes to thank Mr.Theodor HRITCU for conceiving the cover of this book and other examples used within the applications.

The first volume of this book describes the modality of using the Mechanical Desktop program for parametric computer-aided design, starting with general data on this program and ending with assembly elements as well as the possibility offered.
The book presents examples for each novelty element, which will allow users to understand easier the modality of designing wooden products. It is addressed to both students and specialists, who are interested in parametric design.

After an experience of over 25 years at the teacher's desk, as head of discipline, the author presents within this book a synthesis regarding the accumulated knowledge on the kinematics, component structure and control systems of wood-processing machine-tools. In order to understand the theoretical notions regarding the kinematics of wood-processing machine-tools, the book represents a "first time" in reference literature, by introducing the theoretical and technological notions regarding the wooden piece of wood - as the object subjected to processing - as well as the theoretical and practical modalities of surface engendering.
The component structure and the control systems of wood-processing machine-tools are illustrated by numerous figures. The partially colour print confers a special aesthetics.
The book addresses not only to the students of the Wood Industry Faculty, but also to high-school teachers, researchers and engineers involved in this field.

The book presents a new approach concerning an important secondary wooden resource: branch wood. As statement of this approach is the concept of sustainable development. The paper approaches both theoretical and experimental aspects within a detailed and documented study about the characteristics, chemical composition and physical and mechanical properties of branch wood compared to stem wood. Furthermore, models for the evaluation of the branch wood resources as a raw material are proposed and also with a view to its ecological and sustainable capitalization in order to reduce the anthropic pressure exerted upon the forest.
