Any productive activity which leads
to outcomes must take into consideration the MARKET,
respectively the segment which needs and uses
these outcomes (products).
The users must be informed on the existence on
the market of these products or the intention
of the producer to come out on the market with
such products. The "education" of the
consumers is a very important component which
has to be "consumed" at the producer,
so as to convince the market of the importance
and opportunity of acquisitioning those products,
thus demonstrating that they are fashioned, they
observe the evolution of tastes and take notice
of the present human options. All these requirements
of the market have to be comprised in a product,
as a result of sociologic, technological and conceptual
studies, so as the product project to have the
chance of a long-lasting lifetime. The product
thus conceived must meet the market requirements,
which were oriented soon enough by the producer
by all kinds of actions.
The most important action with which the consumer
comes in contact with the product (in prototype
state) is the FAIR or the EXHIBITION organized
at regional, national and international level.
The wood-processing industry in Romania organizes
periodically such a meeting with the consumers"
- the international fair BIFE-TIMB Bucharest -
where the producers present the results of their
studies - exemplified through prototypes - and
also collect the impressions and suggestions to
be implemented within further studies.
The studies, product designs, the fabrication
management - all these are very important actions
which presume specialists, experts, professionals.
The Faculty of Wood Industry in Brasov "produces"
these specialists, with a complex training, who
can create products in correlation with the evolution
of man's expectations, and sometimes, by taking
into account the nostalgia for past times - when
they try reviving retro or rustic art, all adapted
to the manufacturing and functionality conditions
required by the modern man.
Through modern study programs, the specialists
produced by the Wood Industry Faculty in Brasov
gain a multidisciplinary range of skills applicable
in industry, economy and social life. Their knowledge
allows them to develop activities in the following
fields:
     - product design;
     - programming, launching and monitoring of a manufacturing
process;
     - fabrication management;
     - interior design;
     - restoration of wooden products.
When being included in industrial systems or companies
specialized on different types of services, the
graduates can constitute important sources of
optimization of the activities within the respective
fields.
