THE MANUFACTURE OF PANEL PRODUCTS FROM SHREDDED RECYCLED PAPER

Abstract: This paper reports on some preliminary research on the use of recycled paper for the manufacture of particleboard type products. Three different types of paper, office, magazine and newspaper, were shredded in to particles 35 mm long and 4 mm wide. Different panels were then made with each of the papers to see if they were any marked differences between them. The newspaper provided the best panels, but, all panels had poor mechanical properties.
