Here we are in the third appearance year of our journal, which is published by an ambitious and hardworking team from the Faculty of Wood Industry !

This seventh number of the journal happily concurs with the adhesion year of Romania to the European Union, to the great family of prosperous and free countries, carefully watching over their people’s future.

We are aware that 2007 represents for Romania the beginning of a long way towards effective INTEGRATION, with all its institutional structures, within the great European family.

The message concerning the will and intention of "the great and important family of Romanian woodworkers" to contribute to the integration of our country into the European Union, was launched by Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan CISMARU - President of the Management Board as early as within the Editorial of the first PRO LIGNO issue.

And when speaking about "the great and important family of the Romanian woodworkers" we herein mainly include woodprocessing enterprises both with Romanian and European capital. We must never forget that the Wood Industry Faculty in Brasov as a higher education and research institution ensure the formation of specialists within the field of wood and forestry engineering for our partners from the industrial and research sector.

As far as we are concerned, we can assert with optimism and realism that we began the third year of the journal appearance under most favorable auspices: PRO LIGNO Journal was accredited by the National Council of Scientific Research in Higher Education (CNCSIS) as a scientific journal of national importance (C-type CNCSIS journal), having great opportunities to be promoted during this year to the next level, that of a journal with good potential for international aknowledgement (B-type CNCSIS journal).

What do we expect during the new year? First of all a recognition of our efforts by the economic and social partners whom we address to by means of this publication, to be concretized in a great number of subscriptions and advertising contracts and, why not, a more active feed-back and suggestions concerning the journal structure and content.

We wish all our partners from the WOOD AND FORESTRY DEPARTMENT success, prosperity, as well as a rapid and efficient INTEGRATION !
