Didactics of speciality-related subjects in wood industry (in Romanian language

Editura Universitatii „Transilvania”, Brasov 2006
ISBN (10) 973-635-753-8,
220 pg.

Beside general technical subjects, speciality disciplines must ensure a large amount of knowledge and a presentation level of this knowledge adapted to the possibilities of scholars to assimilate them. Some of the general objectives of this course,conceived so as achieve this goal are:

  • to acknowledge principles and requirements of the teaching-learning didactics of speciality-specific disciplines in the field of wood industry;
  • to gain knowledge and abilities for evaluating and marking scholars in professional schools and technical highschools;
  • to form positive atitudes and responsibilities towards the didactical profession;

Being the first attempt of this type in the field of wood engineering, we look forward to all suggestions and observations.

Parametric Modelling of Wooden Products with AutoCAD Mechanical Desktop. Vol. II

Editura Universitatii “Transilvania”, Brasov, 2006
ISBN (13) 978-973-635-781-7,
254 pg.

.

This second volume of the book is structured in 2 large chapters:

  1. Chapter 1 - “Managing drawing views” - presents the way in which the 2D views are obtained by using the 3D models of finite wooden products. This chapter treats the problems connected with planning the views and sections, setting needed, creating and editing views and sections, adding annotations and symbols, drawing documentation, generating bill of materials, drawing border and title block.
  2. Chapter 2 - “Working with Standard Parts” - is focused on the standard parts offered by the program, setting of the standards chosen by the users, inserting standard elements in the 3D model (e.g. holes) and the finite element analysis of parts.

The author reveals to the reader the methods to use the commands implied in the parametric modelling of elements within the structure of finite wooden products, by presenting the steps needed for applying these commands through description and practical examples.

Wood Adhesives

Editura Universitatii “Transilvania”, Brasov, 2006
ISBN (13) 978-973-635-760-2
203 pg.

Adhesives represent one of the fundamental piers of wood transformation into furniture, interior design elements, composite materials, structures for constructions and other applications. The quality of gluing, determined by the nature and quality of the employed adhesives and gluing technology, strongly influences the performance of these products.

The present work, structured on 12 chapters, intending to offer the basic knowledge and information for a comprehensive understanding of all the aspects important in designing, conducting and controlling a successful gluing process. After presenting the theoretical bases of adhesion and the main factors affecting bond formation and performance of glued joints, a multi-criteria classification of wood adhesives is included, and also a detailed presentation of the main classes of natural and synthetic adhesives used in wood technology. The book ends with a glossary of speciality-specific terms.

The book is addressed to all specialists interested in applying and developing new adhesives and/or modern gluing technologies.

Machine Elements and Mechanical Transmissions  (in Romanian language)

Editura Universitatii „Transilvania”, Brasov 2005
ISBN 973-635-436-9
238 pg.

The book presents design methods for machine elements and for mechanical transmissions, according to their functioning conditions. The course contains three parts: the first part presents universal machine elements, the second part presents mechanical transmissions and the third part presents specific aspects of installations in constructions. Finally a numerical design application for a complex mechanical transmission is presented, with a specific calculus for machine elements and mechanical transmissions.

The course is dedicated to the specialists and students form the field of: mechanical engineering; industrial engineering; transport engineering; robotics and mechatronics; management engineering; aeronautics; constructions and installation engineering.
