Abstract:
The contribution shows the construction of an experimental fixture for measurement of chosen parameters during wood sanding. The results obtained from this measurement are presented in this article. The cutting power and main cutting force were measured under various cutting speeds, wood grain directions and compressive forces. The type of coated abrasive belts was the same for all experiments, but the grit size of belts was changing. The wood species of samples were Red beech (Fagus sylvatica) and Norway spruce (Picea excelsa).

Key words: wood sanding, consumed power, cutting force, grit of sand belt.
