Abstract:
In this paper, the authors present the results of their own research studies carried out in the laboratory phase concerning the possibility of using the water-soluble film-forming technical product type Us-V as acid-curing lacquer for the clear finishing and coloring of some solid wood panels made of resinous wood.
The film-forming product under study consists of two water-soluble amine resins produced at SC VIROMET SA Victoria at present, its curing being made possible when adding 4% of sal ammoniac as catalyst for 45 minutes at the temperature of 600C and 45 minutes at environmental temperature.

Applied through brushing in four successive layers at a specific consumption of 80g/m2/layer, directly on the panel, without previous priming and coloring, a final dry film is obtained having a thickness of 100μm, the surface thus finished being colored in a tinge of light yellow, diaphanous, half-glossed. The first layer of the film-forming product plays the role of a coloring product and also of a binding layer with the successively applied films, being thus similar to a colored primer.

From the point of view of the general technical quality requirements, stipulated in STAS 6009/1986, the clear finish thus achieved corresponds almost entirely to a normal finishing class, the film being unappropriate only at heat shock.

Key words: water-soluble carbamide lacquer, coloring, clear finish, resinous wood, solid wood panels.
