Abstract:
The paper presents an experimental research concerning the technology and techniques by which solid wood panels with stabilized planity can be obtained from oak wood, suitable of being used for furniture manufacturing. Beside assortments which are usually used as raw materials for the manufacturing of furniture, low-grade assortments with major defects or from less-valuable oak species such as Quercus cerris and Quercus frainetto can be employed and capitalized within this technology. Key words: stability, planity, detensioning, stiffening, homogenization, reconditioning. |
