Abstract:
The present paper represents the second part of the article concerning the research carried out in order to determine the formaldehyde emission of particleboards through the flask method. Having in view this aim, there are presented the experimental results and their interpretation for the six variants of the configuration of the board pack under study. The authors have taken into consideration the folllowing influencing factors: the board structure type, its thickness and density, as well as the boards pack configuration.
The results obtained highlight the formaldehyde emission potential in absolute value at a given moment throughout three hours, whilst considering the emission from the pack of boards as a whole, but also distributively, only through the faces, edges, faces and edges and related to the formaldehyde content – perforator value.
Given its simplicity, the authors recommend the implementation of this formaldehyde emission determination method in the wood industry field of Romania, as a current control parameter of the production of particleboards at a certain producer or for the external control at a certain beneficiary. Following the obtained results, the use of a modified configuration of the boards pack is recommended as compared to the one suggested by the standard in force, that is the A-type modified variant, according to which the boards are no longer positioned as a pile one on the other, but they are disposed at equal distances of 1mm one from the other within the pack. Key words: formaldehyde content, formaldehyde emission, flask method, perforator method, particleboards. |
