Rezumat:
Conform unor tendinte periodice, cererea pe piata europeana a produselor semifinite din lemn pentru mobilier si design interior, se indreapta din nou spre lemnul de fag cu aspect natural, de culoare deschisa, cu o usoara tenta spre gri-pal.
Una din principalele probleme este ca nimeni nu stie exact ce inseamna acest fag "alb", iar absenta standardelor si metodelor de sortare creaza confuzie si neintelegeri intre cumparatori si producatori. In opinia generala, se considera fag "alb" cheresteaua cu grosime de 25-100mm, cu o culoare deschisa, uniforma pe toata sectiunea transversala a piesei, de la suprafata pana in centrul acesteia.
Aceste caracteristici nu sunt usor de realizat, mai ales in cazul grosimilor mari si mai ales pe perioada anotimpului cald. Exista multi factori care pot influenta culoarea lemnului atat in timpul procesului de uscare, cat si in timpul operatiilor de pregatire, respectiv in timpul depozitarii bustenilor, a debitarii cherestelei si a depozitarii acesteiea. Prezenta lucrare sintetizeaza experienta si cunostintele autorilor si prezinta cateva reguli principale care pot fi aplicate la uscare pentru a obtine rezultate bune.
