Abstract: The paper presents a comparative analysis upon the colour of veneers resulted from freshly cut beech wood (with sap) and from beech wood treated by hot water immersion at 90°C, respectively. The colour parameters were measured both for the white wood and the red heart wood and the colour differences that occurred after drying at different temperatures were determined as well.
